New Year’s Eve Party with Two Tons of Steel

Two-Tons2013FGK-1024x717

Once described as “equal parts Elvis Presley and Elvis Costello, with a liberal dose of Buddy Holly and a dollop of The Ramones,” the local quartet Two Tons of Steel has unleashed its rockabilly-punk fusion on stages from Euro Disney to the National Theater of Cuba and holds court at Gruene Hall every summer with the Two Ton Tuesdays concert series. Formed in 1991 (as Dead Crickets), the band (Kevin Geil, Jake “Sidecar” Marchese, Brian Duarte and Paul Ward) landed in the news in November when their trailer was stolen along with $50,000 in gear and merch, resulting in a “Two Tons Done Got Robbed” fundraiser. Expect a high-energy mix of mainstays, quirky covers and new material from the Lloyd Maines-produced Unraveled when the boys ring in the new year at Sam’s. $16-$20, 9:30pm, Sam’s Burger Joint, 330 E Grayson, (210) 223-2830, samsburgerjoint.com. —Bryan Rindfuss

Usually not a good idea to give a bar going out of business your $$$.
If you do don’t use a credit card, Also If you dont drink shiner this would be a bad idea. How would you feel if you drove all the way down to a shady part of town, paid for parking and found out they weren’t open. Or worse the bar runs out of booze before midnight. Just to many what if’s for me.
