Buenos Aires Unveils Statue of Manu Ginobili

September 2, 2014

Most NBA sixth men don’t receive a statue of themselves in their nation’s capitol. But then again, Manu Ginobili’s treatment of the sixth man position isn’t what you’d call average.

Last week, Buenos Aires unveiled a statue of Manu Ginobili while he was visiting the Argentinian capitol. Though the Spurs denied Ginobili the chance to play for Argentina in the FIBA World Cup, citing a stress fracture in the 37-year-old’s right leg, the statue is a nice offseason honor from his home country.
