Ronald McDonald Has Gone Vogue
There’s a new Ronald McDonald in town with a new look and a hashtag. The McDonald’s mascot is back from a hiatus with more zippers than ever and the hashtag #ronaldmcdonald. This apparently in an effort to make Ronald more relevant in the fashion world (Take note, Anna Wintour).
The change is subtle. He’s still a clown donning awful shades of ketchup red and mustard yellow. And he’s still creepy. The old jump suit is gone in favor of a more sporty, sweater vest/capri outfit with the same big red shoes. He has a Blue’s Clues-esque red and white stripped shirt that he wears under the yellow vest or red blazer and bow tie which gives him options, I suppose.
It’s like Ronald McDonald ended up of some makeover reality show, probably Extreme Makeover: Irrelevant Pop Culture Icon Edition along with Count Chocula, Spuds MacKenzie and oh, I don’t know, Scott Baio, and somehow came out the victor. Let’s see if this new and improved Ronald does any better than the last one.
