Sip Brew Bar Readies for Opening
Downtown is getting an updated Sip (160 E Houston) back next week. The Current first reported in December on chef Andrew Weissman taking back the panini and coffee place from his sister this January. Sip Brew Bar will focus on great coffee (baristas trained at Cuvee Coffee Roasting Company, which will be used at the shop), hand-chopped salads and fresh juices.
The build-out might have taken a bit longer than expected, but the aesthetic results are worth it. Neat two-tops line the left-hand wall, several tall community wooden tables dot the space and a Robert Tatum design helps display the menu on the right (featured left). It’s bright, it’s clean, and come next week, I’m sure it’ll be hopping.
Hours are still in flux. Weissman and co. are slowly rolling out menu items this week during early morning hours, but guests can expect to hit Sip after they take in a show at the Majestic.
