Castro Twins in Vogue

February 15, 2013
By

San Antonio wonder twins, Mayor Julián Castro and Congressman Joaquin Castro are slated for a profile in Vogue’s esteemed March issue, the power issue, which this year features fellow Texan Beyonce on its cover.

Photographed by the incomparable Annie Leibovitz and penned by Jacob Weisberg, editor-in-chief of the Slate Group and prolific political journalist, the piece entitled “Pair of Aces” is sure to bring San Antonio politics into the national spotlight if only for a fleeting fashion moment.

I don’t know about Joaquin, but Mayor Julian Castro is a self-promoting, irresponsible, arrogant, and radical-pandering individual. In 2011, a San Antonio City owned building, the San Pedro Playhouse planned to present a play called “Corpus Christi” (the Body of Christ in Latin) in which a Jesus figure (“Joshua”) and his 12 disciples were presented as vulgar-speaking homosexuals, ridiculing and blaspheming the faith of the majority of local citizens on Our property and using Our tax dollars. Local Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, and Muslim leaders protested and requested it not be presented. The Mayor and City Council approved the play and it was presented anyway. I sent two emails and several phone messages to the Mayor’s office and every one of the 10 Council members about the play. Only two council members responded during the four months of my messages and waiting for answers. I finally got the mayor on a radio station, but when I presented the problem and asked why he hadn’t responded, he only answered, “I didn’t have the time”! No apology and no promise to respond. In 2012, he stated his support for “marriage equality”, a homosexual slogan for same-sex marriage. Then, he proposed a pre-K plan to be City backed and tax-funded, but he had no pedagogical plan, no buildings, and no staff. In effect, it was a blank check he asked the citizens to sign. The publicity on TV and fliers showed Castro’s smiling face, just so we wouldn’t forget when elections came around. It would mean a 15th school district, a new bureaucracy, and new buildings owned or rented by the city! This year, it turns out that millions of dollars are being siphoned off from our already underfunded school districts to fund his scheme. What more abuse of the Christian citizens, our tax dollars, and our school districts, what more expanse of city property and bureaucracy can we expect from Julian Castro? Wake up, citizens, and smell the stench.

To the poster below, I don’t care if it’s Hitler crucifying your beloved Jesus, art is art. How presumptive of you to think that your opinions should guide what art is available to me, my friends or my family. A perfect example of what’s wrong with this backwards State. Protest all you want, but we don’t live by the Christian Taliban rules nor do I hope to ever see that come to pass. If you want religion and believe in fairy tales myth of some savior yet to come, go to ANY of the 1000s of churches in the S.A. area. Quit being such a closed-minded, right-wing bigot.

Can White House connections, political fundraising and the promise of Hispanic votes BUY the cover of Vogue?

Castros go Vogue – By Gilbert Garcia – San Antonio Express News – 2/14/2013

And now for the rest of the story!

Vogue editor Anna Wintour a finalist to be the next ambassador of Great Britain or France – Wintour was one of President Obama’s top fund-raisers during campaign – “is under consideration not because of her fashion sense, but her fund-raising prowess.”

Looks more like a “paid for by the Democratic National Convention” advertisement.
Political journalism in Vogue? This is left-wing DNC propaganda at its best.

“Art is art” is good as long as it doesn’t ridicule Your heroes or ideals! If Martin Luther King or John Kennedy or President Obama were depicted in manure, there would be many protests if they were even Permitted. So many phony leftists are not liberal in the true sense of the word. Respect for others is a principle that applies to all, except for a few exceptions such as Hitler or Stalin. “Fairy tales” is what every superficial atheist has to come up with. A Thinking Atheist with respect for the beliefs of others does not write such trash.

Why ridicule gays, blacks, and other minorities in art when it’s already done explicitly in state laws and and policy? So sick of the religious right weighing in on things it has no place in.

why is it that those at the Current have so liberally changed the meaning of what the text were about to begin with. The post by radical and proud was not an implication of what I had said because when it was written, it stated to the poster (above) and not to the poster (below). So knowing what it said in the beginning and what it now says proves that the Current manipulates the true and original comments of those who post…just another example of misguided journalism if in fact journalism is what the Current represents. Now go share that with your readers.

Uneducated? The biggest GOP voting bloc are those without a college education.
