How to run afoul of Occupy San Antonio, just ask too many questions

After Adbusters‘ Occupy Wall Street campaign went national, a San Antonio based contingent manifested. Social Justice leaders within the Bexar County are were skeptical of the ‘leaderless’ crowds. For years Social Justice scholars have studied historical protests. A leaderless movement? Could a fledgling group of dissenters in SA survive without infrastructure? And why hasn’t the park dwelling political independents, anarchists, socialists, libertarians, conservatives, and environmentalists reached out to local movement builders working on immigration, human rights, economic justice, women’s rights, and prison justice?

A good friend of mine donates her time and money all year long to help local community groups. As an award winning graphic designer she really doesn’t have a ton of time to give these days. The Occupy Wall Street message really resonates with her as a business owner. She gives a shit. Like so many, she joined one of the Occupy San Antonio Facebook groups to ask a simple question. Why did the Occupy San Antonio General Assembly apply for a DBA (doing-business-as) trade name? The question she posed, and the discussion that followed, was not welcomed.

Here are some screen shots of the discussion. In the end, the thread was deleted [censored] around 3AM.

UPDATED/EDIT: while it appeared the thread had been deleted at 3 am, it is in fact still on the OccupySa wall, and growing. I attribute this to Facebook being wonky…the entire thread that could be captured is posted below.

      Come on Tech Tease, your slant isn’t even disguised. I’d expect much.much more from The Current but I guess even alt/indie rags can have their axes to grind.
      Instead of just throwing the following line out for every one to see you should explain why they believe this way. You see a few did show up and they did offer to lead OSA but they came with baggage and goals of their own. When they were asked to participate as individual people they refused. It was basically we play with their ball their way or they would not participate. They have chosen to not participate. That is nothing but self centered selfishness and these are supposedly our best local Social Justice Leaders, I certainly hope not. Actually the actions and selfishsness of these Social Justice Leaders shows exactly why a leaderless movement needs to be explored and operated as a theory geared towards operational actuality. They showed they could care less about the movement, they wanted the power.

Now lets assume the other 5 were really out to get her, which is certainly not the case, but lets just say it was true. And your point would be????? Oh yes I see that 5 people ganged up on DeAnna Cuellar for asking a question, what about the 3500 plus people who are members of either the Occupy San Antonio group page ot he Occupy San Antonio community page. So your gonna throw a whole movement under the bus for an ‘ EDITED INTERPRETATION’ of a conversation between six people. Are you kidding me? So if I get six of my friends and we start loading the Current site with White Power trash and ideas would that make  the Current a White Power Magazine, of course not. To do so would be absolutely crazy. Your site is wide open as is the OSA site and as such is vulnerable to any thing and everything controversial. Then there is the ‘A friend of mine’ problem. You are personally involved here, you obviously have strong thoughts, beliefs, and feelings for DeAnna Cuellar. You have bestowed upon her equally stong values and morals. That is a mistake and you know it.You have obviously also sat at length with her and allowed her to vent and/or relay her message. You even took screen shots from her without asking for screen shots from OSA. Also did you sit at length with anyone in media from OSA? What exactly did you do to vet DeAnna Cuellars story to you, or did you even think to do that? Sounds like you just decided to take her word and view for it, and why wouldn’t you considering the way you feel about her. If any of this is even half true then you did not fulfill your objective duty to this story. You did however fulfill your duty to your friend. I guess that’s good enough huh?

Thats alright pplenty of people saw it and now know that The Current is just as dangerous and hypocritical as any other newspaper.

    The Current has been duped. This article and forum are being abused by John E. Foddrill Sr. as a validation piece for his ongoing slander against ANONYMOUS and OCCUPY! San Antonio. “Tinman225″ is John E Foddrill Sr. He was terminated as San Antonio’s Telecommunications Manager in 2006. He filed suit contending that the City terminated his employment in violation of the Texas Whistleblower Act. The jury charge asked, “Did John Foddrill, Sr. make a good faith report of a violation of law?” The Jury answered “NO.” The trial court (57th Judicial District Court, Bexar County, Texas, Trial Court No. 2006-CI-06702) entered a take nothing judgment based on a jury’s findings. In short, he received no MONEY. Foddrill subsequently appealed the decision. The 4th Court Of Appeals heard the case and subsequnetly AFFIRMED the trial court’s decision. He appeared at a General Assembly of OCCUPY! San Antonio and made his speech that demanded that the OCCUPY! movement dump our focus in favor of his personal tragedy, his proposition was voted down. He currently is flaming the Occupy San Antonio board with ridiculous claims that ANONYMOUS and OCCUPY! San Antonio voted down his demands that they and ANONYMOUS acts as his personal army. I’s just him pursuing his personal agenda to get PAID OFF for whistle blowing in 2006 that a jury decided was bullshit, and the 4th Court of Appeals AFFIRMED. LULZ!

    i do understand that. and that being said: he is free to post on our site like everyone else. i am also open to pursuing another possible story, but at this point i need at least one agency with an open investigation to assuage my many other concerns. the current tries to maintain a website for free-wheeling discussion in
    the belief that communication can foster deeper levels of mutual
    understanding, and even result in a healthier culture for it. (such as my hope is for this thread.) that said, practices like posing under multiple handles as several different users to “game the system” would be a violation of our posting policies. allegations of the sort foddrill makes frequently border on libel. and he’s prone to post repeatedly on a story for no other reason that to spread a link to his whistleblower site. these are all questionable practices under the terms of our online posting guidelines. thanks, all.

    Why post lies when you have no proof that tinman is John ? Is it so hard to believe that a group of citizens joined together to form Citizens Against Public Corruption Waste Fraud and Abuse ? Is it so hard to believe that we meet, discuss information we collect, post comments under our own handles, etc ?

    We have a meeting room with internet access and a library of documents proving the corruption – no one has ever asked to see it or speak with any of us- they just lie and lie and lie.


    The court sided with the city – Yes. The appeal failed- Yes.

    The judgement was arrived at because city attorney Deborah Klein and attorney mark Kosanovich coached city witnesses to lie and hide the many crimes that John reported. The judgement is void as it was arrived at via fraud by an officer of the court- the attorneys involved.

    We knew that the appeal would probably not be granted as attorney Malinda Gaul never prserved the error and never objected to anything. It is only a step in the process that was necesaryunder the law.

    John made no demands of anyone.  He was asked if he wanted to address the 2nd meeting group and did so. He handed out up to 100 disks of information.  There was no vote of any kind. Not one person objected to anything he said.

    At a time when evidence of city councilman Diego Bernal’s involvement in the illeal acts to hide the crimes came to light Raye Penber took steps to protect Bernal and hide the evidence.  He was joined by other Bernal supporters.

    John was banned from the website and defamed by members of the group for his efforts to expose the crimes against our city.

    The dishonest leaders of the movement who control access to information refuse to inform the other members of the reports of corruption and of Bernal’s involvement in the criminal activity.

    Members of capcwfa support John and we continue to work at exposing the crimes and cover-up.

    The SA Current has a copy of the CD that has two files on it:

    Perjury of varn and Klein – proving the subornation of perjury,aggravated perjury and fraud upon our judicial system by the city. Varn’s 2007 deposition, Ciy Administrative Directive 6.12, the City Charter and other documents show that Varn lied under oath in court by presenting an entirely fabricated testimony to hide decades of corruption, theft, fraud, etc. . The disk has pages from his deposition and court testimony proving his lies.  The court never saw his deposition as to this date it hs been kept secret by the City, malinda Gaul, Kosanovich, Klein, Bernard, Judge Arteaga, SAPD, etc. as it proves his lies- a felony.

    Theft of Public Funds- a City email proves that IT manager Jose Medina and city vendor isabel Gonzba added extra hours to time report and approved the fake invoices. Avaya invoices prove that the theft went on for about four long years with over 250 seperate counts of mail and wire fraud.  Up to $200 K was stolen form citizens. This is another felony.

    The statute of limitations is tolled as city officials, SAPD and others conspire to hide the crimes. The statute of limitations only begins to run from the time of the last criminal act to hide the crimes against our citizens and Federal government. The fact that the city submitted a fraudulant audit to HUD Fedral inspectors last year in case # hl 10 0465 , the recent crimional acts of Bernal to hile the crimes, recent statements by Chief McManus that there are no crimes comitted, etc.just started the statute of limitations over again.

    Ask harman to post the CD for citizens to see.

    I know that John E Foddrill Sr was kicked out. Leaders stated that they were getting lawyers and cops after him.  

    Members of capcwfa welcome the cops to investigate and welcome attorneys who want to sue John and us for simply telling the truth and providing evidence from the City’s own files to support our claims.

    Hello, I also have two jobs and am unable to attend the General Assemblies as often a I would like. I have, however attended enough to know both John Fodrill and DeAnne Cuellar enough to know that the San Antonio Current was duped. First of all, DeAnne was upset her ideas were not agreed to during the early GA’s. She subsequently stopped attending the meetings and started trying to undermine the movements decisions from without through posts on Facebook  by questioning their honest intentions, starting a different Occupy web page and trying to siphon members to it, as well, through PR, as evidenced by this blog and it’s heavily edited   copy of posts. As for John Fodrill, I have seen his “evidence” and if it’s not conjecture and speculation, it’s personal as he’s been banned from the premesis of city council. I have tried talking with John, but besides his bullish nature he also seems a little “unstable”. He seems obsessed with something which is not exactly there, and once you disagree with you he accuses you of conspiring w/ Councilperson Bernal and a bunch of others, and keeps sending the same pictures of letters he claims are indisputable. Even here, he has put multiple posts under different names with his claims (hello chriscraft1 and tinman225). He’s slandering people. It is a shame to see this young fledgling movement with so many hopeful people, being so easily damaged from the outside by two people who play unfairly, when they do not get their way.

    Again – clean truth is not telling the truth. He cannot prove any of his statements about our group as he has never visited us, spoken to us or tried to verify how many members we have in capcwfa. 

    No vote was taken to vote down exposing decades of public and law enforcement corruption as the leaders of the movement do not want the “sheep” to learn of the crimes against our city or how city councilman Bernal is helping hide the crimes.

    The LULZ shows that this is an Anonymous member trying to keep Bernal protected from exposurewith more lies.

    You won’t sit down with us and refute our reports because you have had all the proof you need in hand since the day you became the Editor of the Current BUT you refuse to speak with us.

    This is the same tactic that Occupy San Antonio is using. They simply call us names and call us liars BUT offer no proof that we lie or offer no evidence contrary to refute our reports.

    They banned John to hide the facts just like you did when you banned John instead of taking one minute to met and hear him out, review the tons of evidence, etc.

    Read the files Perjury of varn and klein and theft of public funds. Review the many certified letters to the City and to Bernal asking questions that any citizen can ask to which we get no replies. Then give us a call.

    Actually we never banned John. I have invited him out to GA multiple times but he says hes afraid he will be arrested if he goes out in public. I tried to be nice and he smeared OSA and myself across the board with violent and volatile e-mail and face book campaigns. He has accused anyone he has come in contact with of hiding the truth should they not immediately agree with him. IMHO he shows the signs of a paranoid schizophrenic.

    John was banned from all Occupysa and Anon sites in san antonio administered by Anon/Bernal supporters.  He is defamed by these persons in an effort to discredit his information.

    The name calling is a tactic used by anyone who cannot refute the evidence presented showing that Bernal is helping the CFity hide crimes against our citizens.

    If one cannot show that the messenger is lying they defame the messenger.

    John  told the group from the time of the second meeting that he would no be atending any public rally as he didn’t want to give SAPD any excuse to arrest him. Now with threatening phone call to his home  at 3:01 AM on Oct 12 and threats on facebook he surely will not meet in public with Anons and Bernal people.  He has offered to meet in a private place including his home BUT this is not what they want.

    The comment below about a cease and desist order ( no order has ever been issued- just an idle threat) is a prime example of how Foddrill is treated. He is threatened on this board with a cease order and a lawsuit- not a sign that he is welcome !

    When you get into high school you may learn more about big words that you don’t understand. 

    Written defamatory statements are libel NOT slander.  

    Slander involves the making of defamatory statements by a transitory (non-fixed) representation, usually an oral (spoken) representation. Libel involves the making of defamatory statements in a printed or fixed medium, such as a magazine or newspaper.

    Membres of capcwfa including John suggested that the movement focus on more specific local events of corruption, constitutional violations, Texas Open meeting violations, etc. but information we presented was banned as leaders want to protect Bernaland the City. You made a deal with the devil.  

    The media critizes the movement as when anyone is interviewed they read from a manifesto touting long complicated slogans making no sense to the average citizen.  If it weren’t for Bernal and our city government wanting to hide the lawlessness from the public the movement might focus on events that they could understand.

    Your leaders, Bernal and the City can’t allow this to happen.

    we thought your name seemed familiar.  You are a member of the OccupySA media group having joined the group during the second meting when John Foddrill sat next to you as he joined the media group as well. You gave John your email address along with the other membrs of the group. we have the entire list sent to John by the group. You and John spoke to each other, proided some background on yourselves and joined in the discussion for a few hours.  Nothing out of the ordinanry happended and you gladly accepted a CD with prooof of the corruption with no objection. When he was asked to speak to the group you never objected and there was never a vote NOT to expose the corruption as you know.

    Everything changed when the finger was publicly pointed at Bernal afer the 2nd meeting.

    Why ?

    Why call John names now and remark that he is unstable ?

    Other than expose Bernal and our corrupt government what has he done to you and OccupySA ?

There were hundreds of locals, including many local movement builders and local unions. People are people and no one person represents this movement so how can u blame occupy san antonio for a couples words and freedom of speech?

    San Antonio Police Department case # SAPD 11261976 was created by Officer Soto badge # 9739 concerning the life threatening phone call of 10/12/2011 3:01 AM when a computer generated voice like/or that of Anonymous threatened citizens of San Antonio, Texas.

    The ATT Annoyance Call Bureau was contacted with the case #, etc. and a complaint was filed referenceing the criminal complaint filed with the SAPD.

    References to email, facebook and internet site threats were also referenced in the complaints. Occupysatx.com, Operation Southern Thunder facebook page, occupy san antonio facebook page, occupy san antonio facebook page, etc. are referenced.

    The phone call crossed State/international lines and the internet is involved in the illegal activity. The FBI has been contacted and the Dallas FBI has responded.  As ususal the San Antonio FBI ignores the reports.

    Bernal and members of Occupy San Antonio and Anonymous believe that 30 years of public corruption is funny and joke about it.  I wonder IF Bernaal would laugh if it was his  money that was stolen NOT millions of tax dollars?
