Alton Brown Skips SA While On 40-City Tour
For those of you who don’t know who Alton Brown is, he is royalty of all things food and media. (Editor’s Note: Have you been living under a rock?)
Cantankerous know-it-all Brown will tour 40 cities across the U.S starting October 18, and will be in Austin at 8p.m. January 29, 2014 in Austin City Limits Live, 310 Willie Nelson Blvd.
Brown will perform live music, demonstrate extreme food experimentation, present a media lecture, discuss talk show antics and lay down some comedy during his show.
Tickets are on sale now ranging from $39 to $79.
The Food Network vet has worked on “Iron Chef America,” “The Next Iron Chef” and “Food Network Star” (don’t forget the show that started it all and earned him a Peabody Award, “Good Eats”).
“I’ve been cultivating material for this show for about a decade, so it’ll feel pretty darned good to finally get it out of my head and onto a stage. We’ve come up with some pretty amazing food demonstrations and multi-media segments,” Brown said.
Still, food enthusiasts in SA, Dallas and Houston will have to make the trek to Austin, because reasons. I get Austin is only about an hour away, but really? No love for Saytown? San Antonio is among the fattest cities in the nation, wouldn’t that be a hint that we like food… We’re all about food experiments in SA…as long as they involve extreme portions.
Anyway, just a thought.
