Your Youth Returns For One Night Only: 9 Vintage Shows

February 10, 2014

huey lewis and the news 2Do you like Huey Lewis and the News? To some, that’s an iconic line uttered by Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. To others, that is a genuine question, to which the answer would be, “Why, yes! Their energetic pop melodies provided the soundtrack to my formative years. ‘I Want a New Drug’ and ‘The Power of Love’ aren’t just 80’s Top 40 hits. They’re timeless classics.”

Well, if you’re the latter, you’re in luck, because Huey Lewis and the News is coming to the Majestic Theatre. And they are just one of the many vintage music acts making a stop in San Antonio in the coming weeks and months to remind you that time has passed you by. Area venues are hoping audiences are willing to shell out cash to relive their high school glory days, whether they graduated in the 70’s, 80’s or 90’s.

The trip back in time (way back in time) begins Wednesday with 70‘s prolific singer-songwriter, Gordon Lightfoot and continues with Heart, fittingly enough, on Valentine’s Day. Yes, that Heart, “These Dreams” Heart, the Heart that you played on an 8-track while you made out with your high school sweetheart in the back of your El Camino.
